Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus (or, simply, Frankenstein for short), is a novel written by English author Mary Shelley (1797-1851) that tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a grotesque but sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. Shelley started writing the story when she was 18, and the first edition of the novel was published anonymously in London in 1818, when she was 20. Her name first appeared on the second edition, published in France in 1823.

So different from the movie versions based upon it. Although there is some unevenness in the plot, Mary Shelley’s writing is superb. And the flawless and beautiful narration by Cori Samuel makes it very pleasant to listen to.

Great Story

First off. I'll say that I love the sound of Cori Samuel's voice. If you do as well, she's also done an excellent reading of War of the Worlds.

I was a little apprehensive using my credit on an oldie like this, because I know they can be a little dry and long winded.
I was pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful story, and full of meaning.
I may become a fan of the classics yet.

thank you for reading.

I love Cori Samuel
