So wrote the sixth of the famous Armitage sisters. For how could colorless Frederica withstand a Season's scrutiny after the five beauties before her had married so magnificently? Disguised as a chambermaid, Freddie found her way into the household of the fashionable Duke of Pembury. That wild gentleman was soon on to her tricks and found himself escorting the lady to London. I read this many years ago, and was delighted to find the book in the Audible catalogue. It's even better as preformed by Charlotte Anne Dore. She brought this wonderful story to life. Great story with a great narrator. Highly recommended!

Delightful, and stands the test of time

I loved this series and am only very sad it is over. Thank you Marion Chesney for making this Covid-19 quarantine a bearable.

So so bad narration. She sounds like an elementary teacher reading to her students. Her pitch and tone are weird. This story had hardly any emphasis on the two main characters. Very disappointing.

I never understood why they used this narrator for these stories.

Very formulaic, therefore obviously predictable, but still very fun. All the characters are engaging.

Mrs. Beaton was in a prime period of writing during the 80s, but it’s also obvious she ran out of new storylines for the girls and stumbled her way to finish the series.

Fine finish for the sixth ‘sis’
