Amdur and Pelton discuss how to de-escalate aggressive and chaotic individuals once a crisis is in play. De-escalation tactics are specific - one learns how to immediately recognize what mode of aggression the person is displaying, and then, one can effectively implement the de-escalation tactics that are best suited to deal with the aggression one is facing.

A must read for those in law-enforcement or corrections

The title does not do this book justice. You learn a lot more in this book than you would a textbook about mental health and offender behaviors. The AI voice reading messes up a lot and it’s hard to understand when you’re driving down the road, but other than that, I read it twice in one week it’s worth it.
