Excerpts from Volume I:
"Memorized arias
from Carmen
sang in the shower
under a skylight
with broken glass
as snowflakes
melted around me"
and
"A beleaguered blossom
brave as any lonely
soldier
on a ravaged moor"
Emily Evans (1925-2017) was part of poetry circles in Greenwich Village, and married her second husband, a published poet, when she was in her fifties. Among Emily's special interests were literary criticisms, history, and biographies. Her daughter, children's author Victoria Winifred, edited and published this initial collection and is now constructing more anthologies of Emily's work to continue the series.
