A highly-advanced alien species, the Babekian race, faces extinction as their sun dies. Their only chance for survival is escape to a new solar system: ours.

Thousands of years later, human astronomers discover an enormous, icy object rocketing toward Earth at remarkable speeds. Humans and Babekians, two complex intelligent species with violent pasts, must face their fears as their worlds collide.

I can’t say enough good things about this book. Shane Greenburg did an incredible job imagining an extremely unique species of aliens. The story is truly a fresh you take on the sci-fi genre. The characters are extremely relatable and you can’t help but empathize with them. The narrator did an excellent job conveying tense moments. I can’t recommend this audiobook enough.

I am happy to be the first reviewer of this book on Audible, which is appropriate since I think I was the first to review this when it was just in print. First of all, I enjoyed Guy Mott's narration. He brought the Babekians to life. Of course, none of this could have happened without the brilliant writing of author Shane Greenburg. By him going into such exquisite detail about the Babekians, I found myself rooting for them... at least the ones who weren't trying to wipe out mankind. Any sci-fi head will like this book. It is well-paced, with a little bit of flashbacks here and there. The author goes out of his way to make the reader envision how the Babekians look, as they cycle through their emotions. If you are a fan of Battlestar Galactica, this is a must-read.
