This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
In this paranormal thriller, Ashley is the son of a Norn, abandoned by his mother at birth. With no guidance, he can only smell how people are likely to die. He works for the UN Carbon Authority, which makes inroads to fix climate change until terrorists bomb his office building. Because of evidence Ashley records during the attack, he’s placed on an elite team to track down the bombers. His future-sensing talents are pushed to the limits as people try to kill his team daily. Worse, everyone has secrets, even the attractive doctor heading the investigation. Eventually, he finds that the bombing was meant to cover up an even bigger conspiracy, one with links to Norse legends.

Fans of Avengers, Roger Zelazny, Faith Hunter, Neil Gaiman, Lyndsey Buroker, and Seanan McGuire will enjoy this book.

I started listening to this book and it was immediately apparent that the narration was ridiculously bad. I was trying to comprehend the story but the narration prevented me from getting any sort of through line going. I finally went to the title page to see who it was that was butchering it so badly and saw it was Virtual Voice. No wonder! Save yourself the energy of starting the book and putting it away. And to the author - hire a human to narrate it! Your tale deserves to be told by a human, not a soulless machine.

Thoughly enjoyed this book. I have read most of Scott Rhine's stories over the years and I'm always impressed with the way he develops his story lines and characters. I enjoy the way he is able to thread realms together in a plausible manner. Great story.
