Local Guild boss and powerful ghost hunter Cooper Boone is everything botanist Elly St. Clair could ask for-the handsome, strong, and silent type. Maybe too silent. For when Guild secrets threaten her career at the college, Elly has to call off their marriage-and leave small-town life behind....

But starting over in the thriving metropolis of Cadence City isn't easy, especially when one of Elly's new friends disappears in the eerie catacombs beneath the streets. Cooper turns up just in time to help Elly investigate. And as the mystery deepens and dangerous ghost myths and legends come to light, Cooper makes it clear he intends to stick around-and this time he's holding nothing back....

I have read this book multiple times I also own it on kindle and in print. I obviously like the story if I own it in multiple formats but the narrator was very distracting and I could barely immerse myself in the story. That being said I like just about everything this author writes under all her pseudonyms but the Ghost Hunter Series has always been one of my favorites that I reread at least once a year.

Do not care for the narrator

I didn't notice the change in narrators until after the purchase. I won't continue with the series. This narrator makes all characters sound like old ladies because of the loose denture sounds and spittle noises. Too bad, I was enjoying the books.

Poor narration

I could not stand the narrator. She sounded like she was reading a newspaper. No tone inflection or anything interesting at all. I grew to hate the characters bc of the narrator’s voice, which is such a shame bc the story would have been good.

God. I couldn’t stand the narrator

I’ve read the story and most of the series. I’ve listened to the audio as, well. Other narrators in the series actually make the story come alive. This one, not so much. Not sure if that is on the narrator or the director,

Performance flat
