A wildlife photographer's death in a remote country quickly reveals darker motives.

What begins as a suspicious death evolves into something far more sinister, revealing connections between rare goanna breeding grounds, vandalised rock art sites, and powerful interests opposing a new sanctuary. When Odie discovers hidden SD cards documenting systematic wildlife trafficking and heritage destruction, he must navigate both institutional scepticism and the complex cultural protocols of the very land being exploited.

As the investigation intensifies, Odie uncovers links between the murdered photographer and a tourism operation with high-end clients willing to pay for exclusive "experiences." With the wet season approaching and evidence washing away, each revelation tests Odie's tracking abilities and puts his understanding of both his mother's Gija heritage and his father's Greek traditions to the ultimate test.

The vast Kimberley landscape conceals motives where economic gain conflicts with ancient cultural knowledge. But in a country where tracks reveal truths that voices cannot speak, some paths lead to secrets that will kill to stay buried.

Odie must rely on traditional tracking skills to read the signs before evidence disappears completely, all whilst confronting forces that view the land only as a resource to be exploited.
