Anne Silver's brother had been working to expose a clever ring of swindlers when he was struck down by a car, a clear case of attempted murder. Now Anne's determined to finish what her brother started.

But she can't do it without the help of ex-CIA agent Julian Aries, a man who once betrayed her. With Julian as an unwilling conspirator, the couple goes undercover to face ghosts old and new, an unsolved murder and a clever gang of fake psychics. But as Anne and Julian put their lives on the line, the icy chill of danger and a powerful desire they can no longer deny force them to confront the greatest unsolved mystery of all, their unlikely love.

All predictable but somehow puzzling story. Why ghost? The story is random, the characters are boring. Oh well

A bit disappointing for length and lack of character development. This is a favorite author, and her leader books are much more intricate in character, development and plot lines

I love Jane Ann Krentz. I think this one was written before she was a master of her genre, though. Later novels feature strong men and women who are also vulnerable and imperfect, which makes them very real.

Before she was at the top of her game

Unfortunately, I found this book to be boring. Did not like the narrator as well.

Struggled to finish.

Weird arguing the whole book. I don’t know why I finished it except that I paid for it, and based upon the author, I kept expecting it to get better. No witty dialogue, unlikable one dimensional characters. The worst book that I have encountered in years. The narrator could not be blamed- nothing with which to work.

Should have been titled “The Misogynist Tale.”
