This children's book is a touching true story about three little Yorkshire Terriers. Gidget gets pregnant by her sweet love, Tommy. Tommy is the smallest and cutest male Yorkie you have ever seen. A puppy gets stuck in the birth canal during labor, and Gidget has to be rushed to the animal hospital. Gidget has emergency surgery and a tiny black puppy named Pebbles is born. Gidget only has one puppy. Nicki is another beautiful Yorkie puppy that comes along later, and she loves to play games. All three Yorkies smile. An activity game is at the end.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am in love with Linda's voice. I was an instant fan whenI first heard narrate. She is the star of this book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gidget, Pebbles, & Nicki?

The author presents these Yorkies in a way that you immediately felt for them. Ladonna Moore made you love them as if these dogs where your own and I am not a dog lover at all.
I enjoyed the conflict of Gidget having the emergency of having her puppy stuck during labor.

Have you listened to any of Linda Roper’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Linda gives a stellar performance. I am expecting Linda to receive an Audie award at some point.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, It was. I like to listen to a complete story sometimes in one setting, like this one.

Any additional comments?

I would like to listen to more from Ladonna Moore and Linda Roper. They have created magic.

The author's clear sentences are infused by the reader with just the right degree of feeling. One does not need to be a fan of Yorkshire Terriers in order to treasure this book, but since they are dogs which smile, among other wonderful things, one might just go out and get such a special dog.

Great combination of story and information.

This is a tender children's story about three little Yorkies that I fell in love with. The author, LaVonna Moore, is an incredibly creative and original voice in children's literature. The narrator's voice was wonderful and perfect for this lively pet story. Ms. Moore has a way of creating such an atmosphere that you feel like you are part of the story yourself.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found the writing kind of syrupy and indulgent, but then again it is intended for a child, which I am not….but it might even be too affected for today's kids….anyway, I understand that this is a "pet" project of the author (pun intended), and the author certainly cares for the dogs very much, and wants to lavish so much attention on her "babies". However, even considering the intended age group (6-8??) I would have suggested a more restrained writing style.

What about Linda Roper’s performance did you like?

The voice of the Narrator was really rich and expressive, and seemed properly suited to a breed that is named for
a location in England- the accent was probably not "Yorkshire", but it was extremely pleasant to listen to- cultured, full, emotional, and pulling you along in the story to find out the conclusion.

Any additional comments?

Hope this Narrator does more books; I would like to hear that voice again, maybe doing more "heavyweight" material.
