Great start

Although this story starts off slow I really enjoyed how things worked out. I was glad to see that simple every day "actions" were not described in detail as my brain automatically put the actions in, to much detail turns me off a book. There was quite the surprise at the end of this book so give it a listen, as the narrator does a wonderful job with the characters.

Good book

Good book with a spunky heroine who is not at all afraid to stand up for herself no matter what.

Love it!

Oh my goodness this book. I read this series a while ago and forgotten how much I enjoyed it. It has action, twists and turns, and so much steam. I love Sasha! She is snarky, smart, and willing to do what it takes to protect herself. Especially in a world that she doesn't understand and doesn't feel like she belongs. Nikolai is a jerk, but so is Arsen. They both want what is best for their people and don't cut corners to get it. The narrator does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life and I can't wait to listen to the next book.

Great Story

I thought it started a little slow, but i was happy for the backstory once it got going. i was waffling between who I thought was the bad guy for a bit of the story. I was thinking Claudette was blowing smoke at first, but then i thought about it. i was not suprised by what happened in the end (much). the narration was spot on for the dry stuff at the beginning but ramped up for the rest of the story. i was impressed all around and can't wait for the next one.

Loved it

I loved the story telling in this novel, between the author and narrator they both have done a great job bringing this book to life. Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing It was a very interesting new type of story about vampires.

Narrator did a great job on each character voice and bringing them to life for your imagination.
