When she begins to speak to the girl’s roommates and crush as well as other camp counselors, Charlotte’s instincts tell her that this wasn’t a drifter who had committed this terrible murder. This was someone who was close to her. But who would want such a nice girl dead?

As Charlotte continues to investigate, she discovers that Camp Quail Lake is full of secrets and lies. Nothing is what it seems and everyone has a reason to keep their stories to themselves.

From the exciting beginning to its various twists and turns, the novel will keep you guessing all the way to the end. Girl in the Lake is a stark reminder that summers don’t last forever, secrets can’t stay buried and but murderers kill for a reason.

Narrator is unnatural

As long as you can't ignore the pronunciation and inflection of the narrator, it's worth the listen.

Decent murder mystery

This was a decent murder mystery. The story alternated between Charlotte's and Sarah's point of view, with Charlotte in current time and Sarah in very recent past. It evolves around some teenage camp counselors and their relationships with each other.

No more virtual voice, please

This was a good story, but the virtual voice is annoying. "She" says read as REED when it should be pronounced RED and ADA as a word instead of the separate letters (meaning Assistant District Attorney). Those are just a few of the issues.

Terrible AI narration

Thought I would give AI a chance but it was terrible. No emotion and it sounded like a giant run on sentence.
