Japanese-Americans were forcefully removed from their homes and businesses, and placed in "relocation" camps throughout the West. With countless instances of "Gestapo-like" tactics used against them, no one would have faulted them for being bitter or angry at the country that held them captive. Instead, the remarkable story of these Nesei (first generation Japanese born outside of Japan) warriors explains why they were eager to defend their American homeland, and how they became the most decorated fighting unit ever assembled in U.S. military history. Go For Broke is the incredible story of how these soldiers, known as the purple Heart Battlalion," helped liberate Europe, the Pacific, and America from its pervasive and systemic bigotry. “Reading” was monotone and boring. Mispronounced Nisei. Said Kia for KIA (killed in action). Said “2 d” instead of second for 2nd

AI Narration is terrible

The AI narration was horrible. Voice was flat, monotone. Pronounced words such as second, when written as “2nd”, as “two n d”.

Very interesting story

The book and story are great. Biggest issue I had with us is the fact that AI was the reader. Audible should not be using AI to read their books. You can tell there was no personality in the reading and it unfortunately dramatically and negatively impacted the story.

Great story, unfortunately read by AI.
