God in the Bible

Christian theology presents God as being constant and consistent. Analysis of the Bible however reveals that the concept of God continually evolved over time in response to historical and cultural factors. In this book we systematically review specific Bible passages that reveal within their content something of the nature of God. We then objectively examine the meaning of the ideas contained within these passages to both better comprehend the true nature of God as well as to understand how the idea of God transformed as the pages of the Bible unfold. The New King James Version of the Holy Bible is used for reference. We begin with an in-depth review of the Old Testament and then more briefly cover the New Testament. The author seeks to maintain an impartial analysis of the words provided to us by the Bible concerning the nature of God and thus refrains from appealing to traditional Jewish and Christian interpretations. Rather, we will let the words speak for themselves and tell us their own story of God.
