What a fun surprise!

I think that this was my surprise read of the week. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but whatever it was, this blew my expectations away. While this is not a book of deep thought that provokes strong intellectual discussions, it WAS a fun and compelling book that made me laugh many times along the way.

We get to meet Cin, a werewolf who might just have the most awful family in the werewolf world - and that might just be an understatement. Without going into spoilers, let's just say that the results of the curse that is forced upon her are kinda funny. I know, I know, it shouldn't be funny, but it is. It really is.

The show stealer though, is Skittles, or the cat who is also known as Bebe. She definitely wins the award of best secondary character...hands down. Between the two of them, their antics are what makes this story so fun.

I listened to this on audio and Amy Landon did a great job (I especially liked the way she portrayed Bebe). Again, this book is not going to go down in the annuals of history, but it is DEFINITELY worth the time investment of a couple of hours of entertainment.

Talk about leaving on a cliffhanger.....man oh man....

I can't wait to see where book 2 goes with this storyline.

Oh. My. God. I have never laughed so hard at a story. Good lord.

Shannon, as always, has delivered a story full of... everything? Is that an option. There is a whole gambit of things happening and just when you think you know what's happening, she throws a curve ball that has you chasing after it like Cyn does her tail... I mean... LMAO

Is he the bad guy? No, is she? Is he? God it's like someone tossed all the chaos in a barrel adn dumped it over this poor girls head. I approve by the way. Epic.

Y'all, I think this is the best thing since... okay so I love all of her stuff but Cyn reminds me so much of Alex from the Rylee Series that I am so in love. I can not wait to find out what she puts this poor girl through next. It will be delicious, sinful and freaking hysterical. I have no doubts.

An amazing start to a new series!!!!

I've always said that "dysfunctional family" is redundant. Every family is messed up in some way, so just say "family", we get that somewhere there's weirdness happening. But, Shannon Mayer has taken it to the truly "dysfunctional" in this interesting, entertaining and enthralling new story. The characters are so real, you want to be friends with some of them, and you want to just smack some others. As a listener, you get so involved in the emotional outcome to this story. This is such a great adventure, there's excitement, a hunky love interest, twists and surprises that keep the listener guessing, snark a plenty, all with fabulous and loveable sidekicks. The narrator does a great job of distinguishing between charachters, that you always know who is speaking. I'm really looking forward to the next book, can't wait!
