A missing boy. A frantic mother.

And a deadly secret awaits Sheriff Thomas Shepherd.

Hannah never takes her eyes off her son around strangers. So when her child vanishes at an amusement park, Hannah fears the worst.

Working beside Chelsey Byrd and her team of private investigators, Thomas Shepherd looks into the potential abduction. But when disturbing evidence surfaces, the team suspects Hannah isn't telling the truth.

Now the sheriff's department begins a countywide search for the boy. With suspicion growing that Hannah is involved in her son's disappearance, the distraught mother will stop at nothing to prove her innocence and get her child back.

But can she face the shocking truth surrounding her son's kidnapping?

Awesome book

This is an excellent mystery. It is the 9th book in the Wolf Lake Thriller Series. This series does not need to be listened to in order because each book can be listened to as a standalone. I prefer listening in the order they were written due to continuously developing relationships that I think would otherwise get lost along the way.
This book has two mysteries taking place simultaneously. One of a six year old who is kidnapped by a supposed stranger. The other of a deputy who has unknowingly gotten involved in a "single white female” type of relationship. Both have satisfying conclusions.
This author deserves much more recognition and many more listeners.
Daniela Acitelli does a very good job narrating. She is a little slow and I have to listen at 1.3 speed.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Daniela Acitella fails to do this novel justice. Her dull monotone detracts from the novel to such extent that I can't continue to listen. I will not buy another book narrated by Acitella.

TERRIBLE NARRATOR
