How does one become accidentally engaged? That's what Suzy Curtis thinks when she suddenly finds herself very publicly engaged to handsome Harry Fitzallan, local town hero. Harry wants famous rock star Jaz to be his best man - only Jaz is Suzy's ex-husband and a recovering alcoholic. Suzy's half sister, Lucille, loves getting to know the family she never met, but she can't help her attraction to Jaz, nor can Suzy quash her entirely inappropriate feelings for Leo, Harry's engaged brother.

With all these wild players at the table, mayhem is bound to ensue. As each new piece comes into play, everyone has more to lose, and the only way to win is if you're good at the games of love.

This story started out with a couple of over the top antics that almost put me off but as it progressed I realized that it was just another great story by my new favorite author! I throughly enjoyed all the twists and turns of the romances and best of all, the happy endings.

So much fun!

I'm probably not a great person to go by when it comes to reviewing Jill Mansell because I don't think I could ever dislike one of her books. That being said, I honestly didn't care for either of the lead male characters. I enjoyed listening but I didn't care one way or the other how the story ended. I wasn't pulling for anyone. If you're looking for a light happy story - this will do.

Not Bad

It could've been great. But there was too much plot not enough character development. Poor editing, storylines started then dropped then picked up again at the very end just to wrap things up. Inconsistent. But I finished it.

Could've been a contender

I rarely give up on a book... However, 17 chapters in and I decided that reading shouldn't be this much work!

I knew at about half way in that I was probably going to be pleasantly surprised or thoroughly disappointed. Well you can tell by the stars where it ended up. This story never panned out. I felt like the relationships and motives were never clarified. Every character seemed self centered and weak.
***Maybe Spoilers***
I wanted Leo's side of what happened with Harry's first fiance. That story alone turned me off to Leo being the love interest. Than the kiss little test made matters worse. I wanted to like Suzy because at times she seem to talk a good game but it seemed she allowed herself to be played by everyone. I never understood why Jaz divorce her it would seem to me that he didn't care too much about her if that's the case what is there friendship built on? I wanted to know if Karma actually caught up with Celeste & Harry. I'm usually am ok with flawed characters but this book really didn't have anything or anyone to root for. The best character in the book is Baxter. I really think that there were too many characters and too many busted plot lines in the story.
