I’m a fan of wwii fiction, and this is one of my favorites. The story follows some ordinary folks, struggling to deal with the war… you come to know and love the characters. The author does a beautiful job of describing the various characters thoughts and feelings. You end up wanting to hear more about each of them. The Narrator did a FANTASTIC job
Thank you Rachel Wesson

This story is so engaging! I learned so much about London during WWII . I admired the strength of Gracie and Penny, and I'm looking forward to the next book. Penny is a fascinating character!

The amazing narration!!

Good story and vivid storytelling. Narration was great and the characters intriguing. My only trepidation about this book was the ridiculous amount of times one character or another "wanted to kill" someone. Or some minor misbehavior would result in the aunt or mother or friend wad "going to kill them." It's not a phrase commonly used in the 1940's and not in a war zone.

Grabs you from the start
