When Garrett Oliver’s grandmother requests help on her ranch after her husband dies, Garrett’s father chooses him to leave Cades Cove, Tennessee, and go to Indian Territory. When he gets there, Garrett suspects his grandma wants to match him with her beautiful half-Chickasaw friend, but the more he sees of Wren Hudson, the less he resists his grandmother’s efforts.

He wants to protect the often-shunned woman from the community’s prejudice and discover who’s vandalizing her place. But he’s supposed to return to Cades Cove, and Wren doesn’t plan to ever marry, so the future looks as unpredictable as the Appalachian weather back home.

I enjoy stories where the grandmother (never heard of one where it is the grandfather) plays matchmaker. I especially loved this one. It has great characters and a few twists to keep you guessing. Really enjoyed it and definitely recommend!

Grandma‘s Match for Garrett is a quick listen to book that you will enjoy. The narrator is very good. Garrett‘s grandmother needs help on her farm. Of all his siblings, his dad decides to send Garrett from Tennessee to the Indian territory to help her out. Of course, there’s plenty of work to be done, and his grandmother is happy that he has arrived. There’s a hint that she wants to be a matchmaker while he is there. He tells her he will make his own choice. She does get him introduced to her friend, Wren to get him started. He likes Wren, but hates how people treat her, since she is half Indian. This helps him to decide sooner rather than later.
I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.

I really enjoyed, but the ending could’ve been better. What happens to grandma? what was her decision with the preacher?

Get ready for some good, clean fun by Janice Cole Hopkins! Garrett is sent to go help his grandmother out. The youngest in his family, he went off to Indian territory and was staying for a while to give her the support she needed after the death of her husband. When he meets Wren, he is taken, but after a bad experience he is not interested in a relationship. Wren is half Indian which is a put off by many, but Grandma sees the good in her. And the matchmaking begins. Little by little these two become very close friends, but with Garrett going back to Tennessee, there is no reason to start anything, right? And does he care what people think? This is a fabulous listen, not only for the romance, but for the thread of suspense that runs through it. Meeting different families and the way they raise their kids is just eye opening. And Grandma is just he best!

Charity Spencer is the narrator, and she if fantastic. From young children to Grandma, she has the perfect voice picked out and just the right amount and emotions for each chapter. I loved this listen and highly recommend it!

Widowed for the second time, ailing, and lonely, Garrett's grandmother asks his father, her son, to send one of his boys to help her for the summer. Garrett is the youngest and closest to his grandmother. Unexpected action, adventure, and detective work are added to the ranch chores when a young neighbor with both Indian and white heritage catches his fancy. A well told and beautifully narrated tale.
