the first book was read really well, the second not as much, and the third was just not so good. Not sure why. Ms. Clark was very overly animated at the end and the voices were awful. Sorry!

Love the author, not so great narrator.

I have several books by this author, but really am going to avoid this narrator. She does really odd inflection when she reads “he said”, “she said”, “he pronounced”, or anything not to do with what they are actually speaking. She does pretty good voices, but I just can’t get over the other parts. I catch myself repeating in my head the correct inflection. It’s hard to explain, I’d have to take excerpts to understand what I mean. In any case, unfortunately she has ruined future books for me by this author read by her.

Deadly All Around

The narrator, Angel Clark, is horrible to listen to...her voice shrieks equal to the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard. I literally ducked every time her register went up and scrunched my eyes shut in anticipation of the ear piercing pain. I will never purchase another book narrated by her.
The books were hard to follow because of the narrration, but seemed to lack the usual vigor Hart brings to us like she did in the Hickok series. These seemed to be targeted toward teenagers, with watered down plots and namby pamby characters. I know i sound like a whiny, negative person, but that is far from who I am. Angel's voice has set me on edge I think...lol. Anyway, I am a great fan of Lily Harper Hart and want to see more of the Hickok series......EAGER, even...bring THAT on with that narrator and I'm there!
