Geraint Wyn Davies has a decent voice, but to my ears, he did a mediocre reading of these stories. He used different accents but at times slipped out of one accent into another, while narrating the same person. I felt he did not really know the stories, so did not know what emotion to convey; it seemed he was reading aloud, not narrating, which reduced the dramatic effect of the stories. I did not like the editor's abrupt transition from the end of one story to the start of the next story, without dramatic pause between stories, causing the stories to run together and again reduce dramatic effect. For fans of classic horror, this Plus book may be worth a listen.

Good stories, so-so narration and editing

The stories were all very good, and the narration varied from fair to excellent. The lack of a table of contents was very annoying.
I would also like to have had a bit of a pause between stories. It would give the whole book a better flow.

Good stories with (generally) good narration. No table of contents.

The stories didn't particularly *scare* me, but I believe the narrator gave the characters a quite natural feel and the writing was clever enough to keep me entertained.

Entertaining

I appreciate this book, the stories, the narrator, and the overall production .This is better than most. It's a step up...

This is read very well, although more than a year ago I wrote that I did not enjoy the reading.
It’s quite excellent.

Second listen is a pleasure
