Growing Up in Fountain Hill

I was born in October 1948, and raised in Fountain Hill, a suburb of Bethlehem, PA. This book is a time capsule on paper, a collection of stories from when I was a kid growing up on the “Hill“, a small borough in the Lehigh Valley. This book spans three summers of my childhood, the years when I was between 11 and 13 years old. Awkward ages, stuck between boy and teen.

Those were the summers when I had a little more freedom, and the world felt like it was just starting to open up . I spent most of my days outside, swimming at the pool, roaming the woods, hanging out with family and friends, and getting into just enough trouble to keep things exciting.

This book contain more than 50 color images, many using new technology to sharpen and colorize the original 65-year-old pictures. The result is a collection of images that look like what I remember.
