A book with an actual story

A good academy book that has an actual story and not your basic female lead with males fawning all over her. There is character development and not just overpowered characters from the start. Narration is pretty good as well, knocked off 1 start for performance since narrator decided to give a couple key characters a horrible accent that doesn't flow well with the rest of the characters that have no accent but yet are all part of the same geographic area.

Beautifully told story and very well read! The characters are really engaging. The story is fantastic and well paced, I can't wait to read the next one!

A different take on overcoming the odds, mistakes made, lessons learned rather than flying through challenges with ease. Looking forward to Book 2!

I bought this book on a whim and am so happy I did!! excellent storyline great characters, and I was never too sure. What was going to happen next! I highly recommend this book!
