After a rough shift, firefighter/paramedic Isaac Mason decides to personally check up on a homeless man (commonly known as The Poet) he's spoken with on several occasions.
In doing so, the burden of witnessing so much death unveils itself and beats Isaac down into a depressive spiral in this short story.
