Cotswold antiques dealer, Matt Haigh, has long experienced psychological problems and relationship issues due to the abuse he received from his mother in childhood. A series of country house raids, targeting valuable artifacts and priceless artwork remain unsolved. As he tries to unravel the mystery and extricate himself from the police investigation, Matt makes his own enquiries and develops his own suspicions. Then, when two further murder victim's bodies are dumped close to his shop, he finds himself wondering if he will be the next to die.
