New York Times bestselling author Adrian McKinty continues the Edgar Award-winning Sean Duffy series with Hang On St. Christopher.

Rain slicked streets, riots, murder, chaos. It’s July 1992 and the Troubles in Northern Ireland are still grinding on after twenty-five apocalyptic years. Detective Inspector Sean Duffy got his family safely over the water to Scotland, to “Shortbread Land.” Duffy’s a part-timer now, only returning to Belfast six days a month to get his pension. It’s an easy gig, if he can keep his head down.

But then a murder case falls into his lap while his protégé is on holiday in Spain. A carjacking gone wrong and the death of a solitary, middle-aged painter. But something’s not right, and as Duffy probes he discovers the painter was an IRA assassin. So, the question becomes: Who hit the hit man and why?

This is Duffy’s most violent and dangerous case yet and the whole future of the burgeoning “peace process” may depend upon it. Based on true events, Duffy must unentangle parallel operations by the CIA, MI5, and Special Branch. Duffy attempts to bring a killer to justice while trying to keep himself and his team alive as everything unravels around them. They might not all make it out of this one.

I started with Dead Well I May Be and was instantly smitten with the skills of Adrian McKinty. Immediately, he became a writer I knew I would follow until either he stopped writing or I stopped breathing. I don’t write book reviews as a habit but after this most recent offering I cannot stop myself. There is so much depth in his writing, so much deep character exposition. Would I compare him to such talents as Cormac McCarthy, James Lee Burke or William Faulkner? Absolutely. I will follow this man until he decides to stop writing. I am leaving out any details because there’s no way I could possibly convey what he has continued to accomplish with every novel.
All I can say is - if you want literature that is well complex and truly compelling, read/listen to his work. A gift is what he is.

Beautifully written.

A great listen especially by the great Gerard Doyle! He's a master of narration.

I really hope this isn't the last Duffy book. Really enjoyed the series over the years.

I think authors should write what the fans want and not go off on crazy novels like "the chain" which was ridiculous...

A fan of Duffy until the end...

This latest Sean Duffy novel is just superb. I could listen to Gerard Doyle read the phone book and enjoy it - his narration brings McKinty's sheer poetry to life.

Didn't want this one to end and hope it won't be too long before the next one.

Thoroughly recommend

Adrian McKinty never disappoints

Like others, Dead I Well May Be was my first... Michael Forsythe with Sean Duffy! I yelled for joy when I heard his name. If somehow Gerry Fagan can get in on this reunion, I'll die a happy man.

Michael Forsythe?!

Irish brogue. Love Sean Duffy and other characters!! Unique to have music in background of the story.

So intriguing!
