Lullabies...and cowboys? USA Today best-selling author Leanne Banks kicks off the new Fortunes of Texas continuity with a story of a single mom and the sexy rancher who sweeps her off her feet!

As she rings in the new year in Horseback Hollow, Texas, single mom Stacey Fortune Jones tries to count her blessings. She has an adorable baby girl, Piper; supportive parents; good friends. Best of them all is Colton Foster, her longtime neighbor from the ranch next door. He always seems to be around when she needs him. Trouble is, she may be starting to need him a bit too much....

She's off-limits, Colton keeps telling himself. The tall, muscular rancher turns to mush every time he sees Stacey. But falling for his little sister's best friend seems wrong on so many levels. She's on the rebound. She's got a baby. She's...complicated. What's a big-hearted cowboy to do?

Not a bad story, cute and fluffy. It seemed like there were a lot of other stories tied into this one and Im not sure how it all plays out. Maybe this book was to tie all those other books together?

Short and fluffy. Exactly what I needed

The narrator did a good job of male character voices, but in story narration, her voice was stiff at times. When she said "Piper" in Stacey's voice, it almost sounded like Paper.

Great story; narration okay

The narrator’s rhythm when narrating was unnatural and ultimately difficult to listen to. I couldn’t finish this one. She sounded better when speaking in an accent. Idk if I’ll even read this one. If I did, I know it would be a better experience than the audible version

Couldn’t finish

The narrator makes this a hard listen. She's so busy making sure she enunciates every word it throws off the rhythm and cadence so it comes off very wooden with little to no inflection.

I couldn't get pass the narration.

I could never get into the book due to the narrator. The story seemed to be decent but listening to the narrator made me give up on the book. I might give it a try another time but for now I'll pass.

Narrator ruined book
