“Wait Till Your Father Gets Home”

Somers just wants to take a nap on his birthday. This story takes place before Domestic Animals.

“Responsible Adults”

Hazard and Somers chaperone a school dance. This story takes place before Father Complex.

“Under My Roof”

Hazard and Somers just want some alone time. Some adult alone time. This story takes place before Father Complex.

“One Day You’ll Thank Me”

Hazard’s birthday scavenger hunt, redux. This story takes place before Final Orders.

“Hazard and Somerset: Off Duty 3”

Hazard and Somers take Colt to summer camp, and things go sideways. This story takes place after Final Orders.

Best One Yet

This is a collection of short stories from the Hazard and Somerset, Arrows in the Hand series. This is not a standalone, but is for fans who have already read/listen to the Union of Swords series. These are some really fun stories, mainly revolving around Emery & JH’s adventures in parenthood. There are some funny moments around JH tying, and failing, to take a nap with kids in the house. Also, the intrepid annual Hazard birthday scavenger hunt is another good one. And we can’t get enough of the Hazard teenage groupies who think he is a “god.” But the Colt goes to camp is my favorite. It’s a mini mystery with Theo and Auggie making cameos and some true danger. All in all, this was my favorite of the Off Duty series.

The great Tristan James gives another great performance, especially with the Hazard groupies; I laughed out loud. A+++++ Must read for fans of this series.

Another great collection of shorts

The collections of shorts for each Hazard and Somerset series remind me of the tasty frosting in a delicious layer cake. They add texture, accent flavors, and sweetness to an already yummy story. I enjoy savoring the shorts at the end of each series in the same way that I like saving some of the frosting layers for last. The mini stories are filled with the sweet moments that Hazard and Somerset share in their often tumultuous existence. The cake/main story is wonderful, but sometimes it's fun to gorge on the sweetness of the frosting.

The mini story about Hazard's "birthday activity" had me laughing and walking around the house with an "isn't that too sweet" smile on my face while I listened to Tristan James' expressive narration. His delivery of Hazard's internal dialogue continues to reinforce my appreciation of Hazard's snark and persistent belief in the need for others to understand his logical thought process. I understand Hazard; I really do. Everyone just needs to listen to your incredibly sound logic.

So, yeah, if you enjoyed the series, you really need to listen to the short stories too. Tristan James' voice is too pleasant to miss.

I love all these between stories! I had read them when they came out online, but the narration of these characters definitely elevates them! I totally would be feeling H&S withdrawals if it were not for these glimpses into their lives! Keep ‘em coming GA!

I enjoyed Hazard and Somerset Off Duty Volume 3 just to know what they are up to when they are not working is so funny from start to finish I will definitely listen to it again.

Love revisiting

The camping scene!!! I love the teenage gang that follows Hazard around and this provided a little more of that. The introduction. Them at the camping site. All of it is just wonderful. And then add in Tristan James voice narration for the kids was fabulous. Loved the time spent listening to these.
