In Healing the Orphan Spirit, Leif Hetland explores a central aspect at the root of much of the chaos and division in the world today--the orphan spirit. Father God is waiting for His beloved sons and daughters to understand who they are and whose they are so that all might live in the fullness of our true identity as co-heirs of God's kingdom.

From the depths of personal experience and a deep knowledge of Scripture, Leif brings clarity to God's spirit of adoption with answers to questions such as: What does it mean to be "adopted" by Father God? How is Jesus a perfect example of a son who knows his true identity? How does one experience the true nature and heart of God so as to live as a beloved son or daughter? Leif's profound teaching and powerful personal testimonies bring to light what it means to live from the place of your God-given identity and enjoy the life of freedom that every heart longs for.

I have never heard Jesus dying on the cross explained the way that it was in this book. That his act of love allows us to wear the garment of Jesus as a Son/ Daughter of Father God, similar to the prodigal son wearing the new robe from his father’s closet. This book has opened my eyes to see where I have struggled with my own insecurities, fears and doubts because before now I had viewed God as a Lord, Dictator, Master of Law that I was never able to please regardless of how many “good works” I did by chasing approval. This opened my eyes and my heart to now see that I am a Son of Father God and he loves me in the same way that I love my children. I wish I had read this book years ago.

This is is a must read book for all Christians, or those who are considering. I recommend it for everyone. He explains the salvation message in in a whole new way. He uses the concept of we are separated from the Father and the gospel is designed to bring us back to a love relationship with Him.

It's not just about salvation from our sins, but it's about we need to come to the point where we're living as a son or daughter of God, not striving. If we're not to that point then we aren't living the relationship that God wants for us. It's not about religion.

He uses the prodigal story throughout the book to illustrate God's desired relationship with us.
At one point in the book he uses the illustration of how the father in the prodigal story put the his robe on his son, gave him his signet ring, put good shoes on his feet. This is what God wants for all of us. The older brother had an improper relationship with his father, that illustrates a religious mindset.

And this all works together in the body of Christ to evangelize others in the world. It all works together. It's such an important message that I think every Christian should read it or listen to it. Narrator has a pleasant voice, is easy to listen to.

Revolutionary, Super Important
