Being close to God means communicating with him—telling him what is on our hearts in prayer and hearing, and understanding what he is saying to us. But how do we hear God's voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear?

The key, says bestselling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this beloved classic, which now includes a foreword by James Bryan Smith, you'll gain rich spiritual insight into how we can hear God's voice clearly and develop an intimate partnership with him in the work of his kingdom.

The layout and care in guiding you into a real and working relationship with God was masterfully done. It gave real results to your walk and daily devotions. I highly recommend this book! I loved the audio, but ended up also buying the book so I could slowly work through the reflection questions, the four “R’s” of meditating on scripture, and steps for “praying in scripture”.

Impact full!

The book is excellent but I advise reading it. The narrator has a weird and boring cadence…almost like it’s AI. You will get used to it, but it does take away from fully hearing and understanding this important book.

Narrator is difficult to listen to.

Great book, information and author, however, narrator CLEARLY has NEVER read the Bible. I find it hard to believe that Audible couldn't find a narrator to narrate a book ABOUT God who has actually read the book OF God! Over and over again this man referred to the book of JASON. Jason 1:7, Jason 1:23...etc. Clearly the quotes were from the book of JAMES! I wonder how many non Bible Reading people will look up these quotes only to find NO book of Jason in the Bible. Do better Audible! I may be nitpicking but this is the written word of GOD we're talking about.

Narrator doesn't know the Bible

This is an excellent book by an excellent author. Cannot say the same of the narrator. Had to give up on listening by Chapter 3 and go to the version read by Grover Gardner.
