Heart of Ice

Max Hofstedder has been recruited to the Sacramento Titans as a third string goalie and even if he doesn’t get to play a game this season, he’s thrilled. On opening night at their new stadium, he gets the chance he hopes for when the first- and second-string goalies are both out with injuries. After the first period he’s fighting to stay in the game.

Ruben Franklin is the Titan’s team doctor and after the team suffers multiple injuries, he’s thrown headfirst into a job he’s unfamiliar with but is ready for the challenge. One of the more seriously injured is the one and only goalie.

As Max is treated for his injuries by Ruben, he tries hard not to let on how badly he’s hurt, but Ruben isn’t easily fooled. When they finally get some time alone outside the stadium, they both realize there might be more between them than the team doctor treating an injured player.

A Good Story

This was a fun and enjoyable story with a lot to like! While the romance developed a bit quickly for my taste, it still kept me engaged. The narrator was clearly talented, though their voice didn’t quite match how I imagined the characters—especially the hockey player—which slightly pulled me out of the story. That said, it was still a great listen overall and definitely worth checking out!

This is a cute, romantic novella, with just a little drama and a little spice. I loved Guy Veryzer's performance. His voice is incredibly soothing so I'm looking forward to hearing more of his audiobooks.

Team Doctor and the Goalie

I enjoyed the idea behind this story of team doctor and goalie having an instant connection and I liked that we actually get glimpses of the action on the ice since most sport romances don't.
It felt a bit rushed to me though and could have used some fleshing out so that we get some more connection with the characters.

My brain would get confused who was talking sometimes but other than that Guy did a good job bringing the emotions to life.

Loved it

I loved Heart of Ice and struggled to put it down. Guy Veryzer's voice really brings this story to life. The story is amazing and I enjoyed reading Max and Ruben's story.

I like reading sports romance stories and this was another good one. It was very interesting and entertaining to read Max and Ruben's story.
Guy Veryzer's narration really brought the audiobook to life.
