Hope, anger, bravery, love, fear...

There are four groups of cats in this story: a loving family; a vicious gang; a loosely-knit gathering who have made the sewer their home; pampered cat-pets lazing in a rich man's house. And it is the interactions between these cats that make up the tapestry of this book.

Those who do not know cats well believe that they are little more than solitary creatures who roam about at night or cuddle with their owners.

But this is not so.

Cats, just like humans, experience every emotion: love, jealousy, fear, anger. They are brave and kind, cruel and jealous. Mothers protect their kits with a storm of deeply-felt emotions; toms fight for territory and mates. They, male and female alike, have families to protect and kits to raise and food to hunt. Life is a struggle, a storm of conflict and emotion.

This is a story about cats - and if you search, you will find the heart deep inside the storm of every cat's life and realise... they're not that different from you!
