Miriam lives a plain and simple life of devotion in step with her Amish upbringing.

It is a life she has always planned to share with Jed Fisher, her lifelong neighbor and the only man she's ever loved.

But when a hunky new Amish man moves to town from a neighboring community with eyes for Miriam, her heart is flung into a tug of war that will force her to make the toughest decision of her life.

A short sweet story that gives a glimpse into the life of an Amish family. This is Miriam’s story.

Miriam always thought she’d marry Jed, but when he chose to see what the outside world had to offer, she was left heartbroken. Meeting Daniel brought her a renewed chance at love. When Jed returns, how will Miriam know what the right choice is?

While this was a super short story, by Becca Fisher, I really enjoyed it.

Stephanie Richardson did a lovely job with the narration. A great performance.

I was pleasantly surprised with this audiobook. It was light, sweet and innocent. I rather enjoyed the change of pace from the types of books I normal go for. The narrator did a good job, but I wish the males voices were done in a deeper tone instead of the tone of an old person. It made the male characters sound like an old woman from fairytales instead of a male. But overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook. It had a good plot, the author followed through, and it was just the right length for a good listen while I got things done.

Miriam is the next in line of the daughters of Samuel and Emma, and she's ready to marry the love of her life. She thinks she knows who that is--Jed, a neighbor she's known all her life. Unfortunately, instead of asking her to marry him, he asks her to go to the city with him--essentially on rumspringa, though the word isn't used. He's not ready to settle down yet; he wants to find out what the wider world has to offer before making that decision.

Miriam doesn't share that desire, and remembers the pain it caused her family when her oldest sister, Abigail, went to Philadelphia and married there. Jed can't understand her refusal, and they part unhappily. Miriam can't imagine that someone else will come into her life.

Then Daniel, a carpenter from another Amish community, moves to their town, and she starts to think she was wrong.

Then Jed comes back.

What is Miriam going to do? How can she decide where her happiness, and her values truly lie?

It's another sweet, charming story, with a young woman making her choices about values, love, and happiness. And in this case in particular, about her own value.

A very nice little story.

This is the first book in the Heavenly series of novellas. It is Abigail's story. She's not convinced she wants to stay inthe Amish community, so She travels to Philadelphia to take a look at what the outside world has to offer. Will she stay or leave? I love this series! They were given to me in exchange for an honest review, and that's what this is. The narrator does an excellent job and doesn't get in the way of the Story, if you know what I mean. She also gives life to the Characters with her expressionate voice. I highly recommend this book.

This was my favorite book of the series. It's a story about what every woman wants to find, a man that put her first, and in turn she can give him everything he deserves with no reservations. Definitely an uplifting story.
