Michael Park is everything a family and school would want: Excellent student, phenomenal athlete, straight laced, and tries to never get into trouble. However, at the peak of the Vietnam War, he is also the son of Korean immigrants and is accused of being a Chinese communist everyday, all the while trying to break free from traditional Korean family expectations so he can forge his own path.

His only areas of salvation are his guitar, his athletics, and his teammates that accepted him as one of their own, especially the black teammates.

His junior year of high school is met with the highs and lows of success, racism, bigotry, love, loss, and redemption as a private Catholic school outside Buffalo, NY actively recruits him to join their school as an athlete.

Each success comes with a price and every low comes with consequences until Michael realizes that if he wants his own life free of the expectations and intolerance he faces daily, he will need to act in his own self-interest and make choices that could cost him everything he holds dear.

Events through this year push him towards his decision until one horrible night that started as the best day of his life forces him out of the shell he puts himself in and turns him into a militant man with a social conscience out to change a system.
