I Loved the Characters

I loved the audiobook of this story!
Evaline and Henry’s romance is so cute. Young people working for God and getting to know each other. The little ladies in the church love to play matchmaking plus the whole town really! Henry tries to get his courage up just to ask Evaline out. I think he was so sweet.
I loved all the characters, from the eldest people to Evaline’s younger sister. Everyone was trying to be helpful.
Try this sweet little novella. I think you will enjoy.

Henry & Evaline by Penny Zeller. Enjoy this quick Christian romance. This is a very cute, sweet, Faith filled romance.

Charming!

To put it simply, Henry and Evaline is an utterly charming friends-to-more tale! Set in the 1960s, this story captures all the warmth, innocence, and charm of my growing-up years. Henry and Evaline are relatable characters who truly shine in this light, clean, and saccharine-sweet romance. I enjoyed the small town of Chokecherry Heights with its delightful and quirky townsfolk. Evaline had me laughing throughout the story, and Henry’s heart is as pure and thick as honey. However, my favorite character (though it’s hard to choose just one) is Great-Grandma—she’s an absolute hoot!

I found myself rooting for the budding romance between Evaline and Henry, and when the story came to an end, I was fully entertained and uplifted by the unmistakable thread of faith that weaved these young people together.

Audio Narration: As a southern girl myself, I appreciated the audiobook’s southern flavor. Vicky Livestay, the narrator, has a thick drawl that initially feels a bit dramatic, but is sweet and genuine and immerses you in the charming small-town atmosphere.

I read book two of this series prior to reading this one, but they each work wonderfully as standalones. Don’t miss book 2, Love Under Construction! Also set in Chokecherry Heights, the enchanting enemies-to-more story offers loads of depth, renovating homes, lives, and hearts.

Another Adorable Story from Penny Zeller!

Having loved reading Henry and Evaline by Penny Zeller, it was a pleasure to get listen to the narrator bring the characters to life in this sweet little book with solid faith woven throughout.

The narrator did such a wonderful job with the accents and voicing for all of the characters and the story as a whole.
