A Deranged Killer Waits in the Dark

When a vulnerable girl goes missing from Belmore Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, reporter Veronica Lee uncovers a serial killer’s dark secret of murder and madness.

As Willow Bay’s chief of police investigates the link between the girl’s disappearance and a violent fugitive on the run in South Florida, the bodies of two young women are recovered from the nearby Gulf of Mexico.

And after the vicious murder of a local girl leads to a surprising suspect, Veronica turns to a renown criminal psychologist to help her uncover the deadly secret that hides in the dark heart of a killer.

AI voiced ruined this book

The AI narration of this book was horrible. Words pronounced wrong, odd cadence and weird inconsistent character voice. Some things should have been picked up and corrected in an edit. i guess it's cheap.... and it showed. Not impressed.

I was not happy with narration..there was no emotion. I rather have a person read the book. The story was really good though.

I really thought the stories were ok. Just really dislike AI narration it lacks emphasis and pace variation. Very monotone and the reason I listen to books is it brings them to life with a good narrator. This AI has now tone change or pause for effect nothing but going over the words. I'd rather read it myself than ever listen to another AI read book.

Good story

I liked the storyline and would have liked the book much better, if I read it on a hard copy. It was narrated by AI, and it was awful. The inflections were on the wrong words and/or wrong parts of words. Pronunciation was inconsistent; Dante was pronounced correctly in one sentence (Dahn-Tay), and then mispronounced as Dan-Tay in the next, for example. It was also glitchy and robotic sounding at times. It was an all around horrible narration on an otherwise good book.

Good book, atrocious narrating
