Following the death of his 10-year-old son, physician Peter Croft embarks on a desperate, seemingly random search for a missing child, risking his sanity, even his life in a grief-induced quest. His journey propels him into the darkest reaches of human suffering and pits him squarely against an adversary whose own obsession defies all reason.

Here After is a story of love, loss, obsession, and redemption, with gripping action sequences and a subtle paranormal underpinning. A compelling listen from a seasoned storyteller, Costello's sixth novel will keep you listening deep into the night.

This psychological thriller book had me hooked from the beginning into Peter’s shattered world, when he looses his son the grief is raw . What starts as a mystery quickly becomes a journey through loss, guilt, and the desperate need for closure. I feel for him but also for her she thought she was doing the right thing her grief made her believe she was saving her son her pain was so devastating I couldn’t put stop . I will definitely recommend and will continue reading more of this Author.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes I would. It is a complicated novel with multiple aspects such as paranormal, mystery, crime, angst and all manner of drama. It is almost overkill at times , but Costello pulls it off.

If you’ve listened to books by Sean Costello before, how does this one compare?

This is my first, but won't be my last. Certainly his reviews appear worth the investment of time and credits.

What does Timothy McKean bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

McKean really owns the characters, and is completely convincing in the depth of emotion he shows here. An outstanding performance.

Do you think Here After needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, I think it wraps up the way we would want it to.

Any additional comments?

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.

I was going to download this one anyway, but the author approached me, so thanks! This is an outstanding offering. Maybe not the most uplifting of books I have heard in awhile mind you, but with enough thoughtfulness and rich characters, let alone concepts, that it leaves the listener fascinated and wanting more.

Highly recommended.

The first couple of chapters were heartbreaking. And I really liked the paranormal aspects. I spent most of the last part of the story waiting for it to show up again. It kind of felt like the paranormal figure was a jerk for not making an effort when it would have mattered. That confused me.

Killer Beginning!
