New stand-alone from NYT best-selling author Kaylee Ryan.

I’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve learned the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet, that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path.

It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.

We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight it. Until one night in Vegas changes everything.

Overall and Story: Omg. Rhett. He is such an ooey gooey cinnamon roll. From the moment he meets Saylor, there is an instant spark but they didn’t quite get along at first. Hey, Whiskey has several tropes- a bit of enemies to friends to lovers and a oopsie Vegas wedding. I just enjoyed reading this book and seeing Rhett and Saylor fall in love.

Performance: omg. Teddy Hamilton. He is great as Rhett. Just wow. I enjoyed Maxine Mitchell as Saylor. You can feel the emotions Saylor is feeling and going through as she narrates.

I really liked this book!! The couple is mature, their situation is not anything I haven't read before but I really loved the connection and chemistry between them. This book left me smiling at the end with a perfect HEA.

Narration was great!!

Sweet, low angst love story between two likeable, mature enough adults. I could have done with so much less of the repetitive "I'm such a poor thing, an orphan" thoughts/lines by the heroine (we got it the first time yo) and the repeated run-ins with the ex (what were those scenes for?)

The supporting characters were amazing.

I am not a fan of Maxine, the lady narrator, and almost stopped this audio book upon realising it was going to be her. I don't like her usually OTT quivering voice reads - who talks like that in real life? Anyway I tried it for a chapter and wowza, she sounds "normal" here most of the time so I was able to finish.

The male narrator was great!
