Jon and Lindsay have retired from stellar archaeology careers and settle onto their ranch in Arkansas. Their goals shift to their children and they concentrate on their upbringing and education. Jonathon enters the Air Force academy, intending to become a fighter pilot, while his sister, Alice Lin, pursues her education to become a nurse. Jonathon meets the girl of his dreams while attending flight school; fellow aviation cadet Becky Meyers. Will they find everlasting love and happiness, or will their parallel careers drive a wedge between them.

Jonathon masters the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Strike Eagle and after proving himself in combat, enters NASA’s astronaut corps. Both NASA and Space-X want Jonathon, but in the role of engineer, designing and building their spacecraft. Will he design the ships that others fly, or the ships he will fly into space?

What stands to become a stellar career becomes embroiled in domestic problems on the home front. His sister’s greed surfaces and threatens destroy their parents lifetime achievements and heritage.

As Lindsay’s health fails, her lifelong friends, Jenny, Margaret and Alice, come forward to help her, but will it be enough. Will Jonathon’s sister succeed in her coup while he’s in space, or will they manage to save what Jon and Lindsay have worked a lifetime to create?
