Hillbilly Hustle

Knox Thompson thinks he's working a hustle, but it's a hustle that's working him. Trying to keep his pizza shop and parents afloat, he cleans out a backroom Kentucky poker game only to be roped into dealing marijuana by the proprietor—an arrangement Knox only halfheartedly resists.

Knox's shop makes the perfect front for a marijuana operation, but his supplier turns out to be violent and calculating, and Knox ends up under his thumb. It's not long before more than just the pizza shop is at risk.

An unikely hero story

Knox Thompson isn't the kind of character you'd expect to root for, but you can't help but hope that he comes out out top. Set in the foothills of East-Central Kentucky, Hillbilly Hustle keeps things interesting with plot twists and turns and well-developed characters, while paying homage to local landmarks along the way. The narration makes this an easy listen. Recommend!

Kept my attention

Well developed characters and story line. Enjoyed the listen. Characters were believable. I thought I had it figured out and knew how it would end but to my surprise, I was wrong. Those are always the best stories.
