A resilient woman. A clueless rancher. A meddling little sister.

Pauline Morris longs for a family, having lost her own years ago. When the Lowell factory she works at fires everyone, she seeks a new future on the wild frontier with a rancher from The Matrimonial Times. But little does she know, her rancher hasn't written Pauline a single letter. In fact, he doesn't even know she exists. What will Pauline find when she travels to Hidden Pines?

Simon Fox is devoted to his family and his ranch. His little sister Maggie and his Aunt Betty rely on him to provide. Maggie longs for a big sister and fears her older brother losing himself in work forever. When Simon discovers his sister's meddling, he's willing to indulge her flight of fancy, and write back to this woman. But when Pauline's next letter includes an arrival date to Hidden Pines, the Fox siblings are put in a bind.

Will Simon accept this stranger into his life and his heart? Or will this winter surprise freeze more than one heart to ice?

I listen to Audible books to help me concentrate on my work. Crazy, I know, but it really does help me. I can get lost in a good book and I can manage to keep my mind on work and just speed through my day. Virtual voice just really does not do it for me. While it has gotten better, it still can't beat the warmth of a human voice. It does not have the proper inflections of a human voice, and I have noticed a lot of mispronunciations. That is one of my main issues, outside of all the others. Only one portion of my brain is listening to the reading of the book and then there is the mispronunciation. It's like a record and the needle skips all the way across! It will pull all my concentration directly to that one word. Forget concentrating on work! Wait! What?? What did it just say?? That isn't even a word! Come on Audible! Let's get some humans back into reading these books, please??

Good story, vitrual voice, Eh!
