A serial killer is hunting the Pacific Northwest, murdering victims in a gruesome and spectacular way. The local police suspect “monsters” are involved, and have called in Anita Blake and Edward, U.S. Marshals who really know their monsters, to catch the killer.

But some monsters are very real—and even to speak their name can earn you a death sentence. The bogeymen of the vampire world, The Harlequin, are here in America hunting weretigers and human police. But Edward thinks the serial killings are just a trap—to lure Anita ever closer to the most dangerous vampire they’ve ever hunted…

I like the books with Edward in them. Almost half of the book was over before the sex scene. ( whats NOT to love about the sex lol) The narrator did a great job. And you know, I even liked the music! I can't wait for the next one. Not sure why all the compliants, its really easy to solve the problem. Don't buy any more of her books.

What made the experience of listening to Hit List the most enjoyable?

It has been at least 1 year since I listened to any of the Anita Blake books. Once I started listening to this one, I realized that once it was over, I would just have to start listening to the entire series again!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Edward!!! I have always enjoyed the books with him in them.

Have you listened to any of Kimberly Alexis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

Awesome book! Reminded me of the Anita Blake that was in the beginning of the series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'm SOOOOOO glad that the author returned to the style of the earlier Anita Blake books. More excitement with her investigating a case and less of the sexcapades and orgies of the last several books. For awhile the books seemed to be more about explicit sex scenes than anything else. I also love that Edward was a big player in this book, but I would have liked to hear a little more about Jean Claude.

Getting back to the true character

Okay this book had the old Anita on a monster hunt but the fiends she is chasing are the mixed up confused Harlequin. As a us marshall, her duties take her away from her “family” and food. When the need to get assistance occurs she has to call in backup. I love the interaction with Ted/ Edward, otto/Olaf and Bernardo. The ardor seems to be less of a problem but rears it’s ugly head a lot and the human Marshall’s just don’t get it. Overall I liked this one a lot. Kimberly Alexis rocks

It took the reader a few chapters to get a feel for the characters and read with more meaningful intonation and rate.
