Hit and Run is the eighth book I’ve read from Vincent Zandri, and while not my favorite, The Remains still holds that spot, it is near the top of the list. This story is packed with action and enough desperation to make you wonder what else can befall Matty. Of course, you don’t have to wait long to get the answer, it’s like Matty is a close relation to Joe Btfsplk from the Li’l Abner cartoon strips, the only thing missing was the dark rain cloud following him around. Or in Matty’s case it could have been a snowstorm. Anyway, Hit and Run started off with a bang and kept me entertained until that final sentence, and it certainly summed it all up. I listened to the audiobook version of the story narrated by virtual voice. This was the second audiobook I ‘ve listened to narrated by virtual voice, interestingly enough the first was also a Vincent Zandri book, in this case the virtual narrator’s voice fit the story like a glove – I could visualize Matty being the narrator.
