A cute, sweet, and entertaining story. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Elle Newland is a wonderful narrator.

A great novella

I have been a fan of many of Samantha Young’s books so when I saw this novella available in the Audible Romance package, I was extremely excited and completed it in one sitting! The performance by Elle Newlands was great, the accent was spot on.

I loved the chemistry between Autumn and Grayson. Their story was more of an insta-love but Autumn had just gotten out of a toxic relationship and she wanted nothing to do with men so even though she felt that connection she tried to stay away. She was also visiting from Scotland so she couldn’t see this going anywhere. But Grayson was just as determined and he worked hard to be given a chance. Their story was sweet and definitely swoon-worthy. Not a lot of angst, just some sadness with what Autumn’s past relationships were like, but with Grayson now in her life, it is all beautiful. I enjoyed their story tremendously, now very interested in her brother, Killian’s story!

Okay, I really, REALLY wished this wasnt a Novella! It was a whim romance between Gray and Autumn and after falling in love with Autumn's personality and heart in As Dust Dances, I wanted the full arch of her story. Elle Newland told the story fantasticly and her accent, voice, and storytelling is always great! Just wished I got to know more about Grayson and Autumn's backstory. Just my desire tho. This is a story that is quick, and if you're curious about what happens to Autumn after Skylar and Killian's story this ties it up up quickly, but not realistically for Autumn's past relationships for me. She did the same thing she had done with all her past relationships by jumping, not looking, and thank god Grayson just happened to be integral and a good guy that he didnt screw her like all her previous relationships. Autumn just happened to have chemistry with Grayson and that's how they "knew". I feel like this was a bag of chips I opened only to find it was half filled with air. 😔 I'm not a huge fan of novellas when it comes to telling a side character's story. Especially when they are a supporting character that was so interesting in an actual full length novel. Ill still continue to read Samantha's novels, just might have to steer clear of her novellas.

Very disappointing. Way too short.

This really should’ve been a full length story. She is a character who you get very interested in in the previous book and to rush through her love story that quickly, I think was doing her a disservice. There was no build up. It honestly felt like it was maybe the first three or four chapters in the last two chapters without a middle. I really hope the story gets retold later with more detail.

Hold On

I read Hold On as a companion to the Big Sky series crossover, not having read much by Samantha Young prior (at least nothing recently). I enjoyed the book very much, so I wanted to listen to the audio, as well. I felt like the story was told better through reading the book, although I very much enjoyed Elle Newlands' performance. It was great getting the Scottish accent to go along with the storyline!
