At the center of Home Again is Madelaine - a brilliant cardiologist, a loving mother, a tender friend, and a woman full of self-doubt. It is also the story of her confused and angry daughter, Lina, and of the two very different men Madelaine loves: Francis, a priest searching for his faith, and Angel, a talented but cynical man with a broken heart. When tragedy suddenly brings them all together, they must learn to forgive the betrayals of the past and find the courage to love again.

A heart surgeon and single mom. Her rebellious teenage daughter wanting to know who her father is. Her childhood friends, a priest and his brother, a substance abusing actor who needs a heart transplant. I bet you could fill in the plot with a high degree of accuracy.

Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite writers, however, this novel, written early in her career is cliche-filled, flat filled will one dimensional characters and a predictable plot. I can't explain why enjoyed the novel but might even read it again at some point on the future, thus four stars.

Cliched but a nice listen

Very much enjoyed tge story line. Returning, asking for forgiveness, forgiving and restating is what life is about.

I liked it. I didn’t love it. Very predictable.
I enjoyed the connections of all the characters but found it too predictable.
A good story though. Kinda like a Hallmark movie.

Enjoyable

Possibly earlier work thus the snappiness; I did listen to the end but had it all figured almost immediately. Just not my kind of novel!

Too sappy for me

A bit predictable in parts, but none the less, heartwarming and beautifully written. Well worth listening.
