Great read, even better audio. Narrated by the author, this true crime novel takes you into the lives of of victims and the hearts of those who speak for the dead .

Excellence

In terms of audio books, I have a particular fondness. They make my 40-mile commute very enjoyable, especially when they're well written and well narrated.

Both of Joe Kenda's non-fiction volumes are honored members of my spoken library, and when I listen to them, it's like I'm sitting in a diner having coffee with the man.

Listening to yours as I have, I have the intense feeling of being in a Film Noire, with you as the Bogart-esque lead. It's so damned much fun to listen to, especially with the unique solutions you come up with (the metal detector polygraph comes to mind), and your style of narration has a unique edge that I truly enjoy.

Finally, your volume is quite fun because I have something of a knowledge about the locations you describe. Neat!

Raw and real!

A real world view into homicide investigations. Having the author narrate was amazing. Great read for true crime fans!
