As Catholics, we believe in the resurrection of the body. We profess it in our creed. We're taught that to bury and pray for the dead are corporal and spiritual works of mercy. A fantastic book about death and your body, by Dr. Scott Hahn. I’ve enjoyed every book that I’ve read from Dr. Hahn, but this is among my favorites. He discusses the Christian tradition of burial ceremonies, the history of cremation, and theology of the resurrection of all our bodies.

A fun fact I learned: Cremation was heavily promoted by Freemasons and Bolsheviks. But most interesting to me is that cremation was introduced at a World’s Fair, or Exposition. If you know anything about these Expositions (I.e. erasure of history events), you’ll find this very interesting.

Gold.

Everything Dr. Scott Hahn writes is gold. I Love this book. It could be used at Catholic Seminaries as a supplement for Eschatology. I am a lot better prepared to engage in conversations about treating the bodies of our beloved dead with dignity, respect, and even reverence.

A great book that is much needed. I appreciate the idea of catching action as a means of change! Burial takes on greater meaning in the context presented. The hope of death and the rational for this hope was clearly conveyed. I recommend others to read and Be not afraid.. thanks Dr Hahn
