The only thing OTT was the cringe

Was there anything about the promised age gap, hero, alpha romance in this story? Instead of an alpha, we get a sensitive guy who falls over himself to apologize for something that wasn’t his fault. What was heroic? What was their age difference? I must have missed it in the lightspeed path from the meet cute to two kids and a picket fence. Even the V card thing was little more than her announcing she hadn’t had a guy interested since sixth grade … and him pausing for a second to wonder if she was in pain (nope).

The teenage sounding virtual voice for him made things infinitely more cringe, especially when it got to the dirty talking first time against a window. No. Just, no.
