HOUSE OF SECRETS is the first book in a major new series. Three siblings and their family are forced to move to a mysterious new house in San Francisco and end up embarking on a journey of a lifetime to retrieve a dark book of untold power.

The Walker kids had it all: loving parents, a big house in San Francisco, all the latest video games . . . But everything changed when their father lost his job. Now the family is moving into Kristoff House, a mysterious place built nearly a century earlier by a troubled fantasy writer. Suddenly the siblings find themselves launched on an epic journey, to retrieve a dark book of untold power and uncover the Walker family's secret history. Oh and save their parents . . . and maybe even the world.

Would you try another book from Chris Columbus and Ned Vizzini and/or Daniel Vincent Gordh?

Never another book from Chris Columbus again! He is a movie maker and should keep doing that instead. His book is filled with obvious movie scenes, grand and majestic, but the plot is incredibly thin and the characters are laughable.
Daniel Vincent Gordh however did an amazing job and I would love to hear more from him.

What could Chris Columbus and Ned Vizzini have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write a better book with a good plot and likable characters.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Daniel was amazing, his change in tone made it easy to hear which character was speaking and he really went all in.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I had such high hopes for this book but was severely disappointed.

Any additional comments?

I tried this book mainly becauses of Daniel Vincent Gordh (Darcy!) and he sure didn't disappoint. I hope he gets another chance to read a better book!
