Whether it for personal, social, economic, or political reasons; our lives as human beings involve making decisions and choices on a daily basis. These decisions vary in quality and importance and are based on information that we receive from multiple sources around us.

The relationships we engage in and the influences we have been subject to since our childhood contribute to the incarnation and evolution of our of our personalities. These influences that are acted on us by different agents constitutes what is referred to as "brainwashing" or "mind control" in the broad sense.

In today's world, we are exposed to different kinds of manipulation and will extortion. For instance, governments use their powerful media to influence public opinion and manipulate the public according to their political agendas. Corporations also use advertisement and public relations to influence and coerce crowds to buy their overpriced goods and services. Religious groups and cults have their own methods for recruiting young people and forcing them to embrace their strange ideas and adopt their rigid styles of living.

The following research aims at searching and investigating the ways and the methods that are widely and systematically put into use while forming, changing, and manipulating people's opinions and attitudes in different situations.
